Phoenix signs with NAPS in Italy - November 4th 2002

Phoenix are set to grow their new mass market PS One value range with the signing of 3 new titles from the Italian developer NAPS Team : Football Madness, Mech Robots and P.O.W..
Phoenix are commited to becoming the leading publisher in 2003 for PS One value priced products.

Already the level of distribution and retail support, both international and nationally in high street and non-traditional retail channels, will see the new PS One value priced range make a huge impact on the market.

Phoenix signs with Altron in Japan - November 4th 2002

Phoenix are delighted to announce a licensing deal with the Japanese publisher Altron for their following PS One titles: Pro Backgammon, Robopit 2, Checkmate 2 and Rox.

The first versions of Checkmate (chess game) and Robopit (action game) were previously published by Midas and THQ respectively and were huge successes in Europe. With the signing of Pro Backgammon and Rox (puzzle game) Phoenix will bring even more diversity to it's impressive PS One lineup over the next year.

Phoenix signs new distribution partner - December 10th 2002

Fast growing Phoenix Games has signed an Exclusive Distribution deal for Spain with Virgin Play S.A. "We are delighted to have secured distribution with one of the leading Spanish companies. This is the first of many new distribution deals that will be signed before the end of this year", said Sales Director Simon Hamer.

Phoenix signs sequels - December 10th 2002

After the success of PS One games All Star Racing 1 & 2, Phoenix has signed from Kung Fu Games the sequel All Star Racing 3. Kung Fu has also agreed to create a new PS2 Racing Game called Xtreme Speed which will consist of 4 different races with GT cars, Convertibles, Mini's and Italian Sports Cars.

The best selling individual title in the Midas Pocket Price PSOne series was Vegas Casino which sold more than 330,000 units. Phoenix it delighted to announce it has secured the rights for the sequel "Vegas Casino 2" that will be developed for the PS2 by Mere Mortals and will retail at £ 14,99.

Phoenix signs 15 new titles - December 10th 2002

New Publisher Phoenix Games is continuing with its ambitious plans to expand its portfolio with the signing of 15 new titles. TRS Media had a huge success with Midas with its first series of PSOne Cartoons with more than 500,000 units being sold. Phoenix is delighted to have signed the exclusive PSOne Pal Publishing rights for the new series of 8 titles. The first four releases will be Atlantis, Dinosaurs, Dalmatians 2 and Hercules.

Phoenix has also secured the rights to the sequels from two of the best selling titles from the PSOne Pocket Price series "King of Bowling 3", from Digicube (Japan) and "Checkmate 2" from Altron (Japan). Other titles signed from respectively Crystal Interactive (USA) and Digicube (Japan) are "Paradise Casino" for Windows XP/2000 (11 different games) and PSOne (4 different games). Two other PSOne titles Destructo and Bust-A-Wall have been signed from D3 (Japan) as well as a new PS2 racing title called Road Rage 3 from Atlus (Japan).

Phoenix signs authentic Arcade Classics - December 10th 2002

Phoenix has secured a deal to publish 4 Arcade Smash Hits, "Dragons Lair", "Space Ace", "Who shot Johnny Rock?" and "Mad Dog McCree" from Digital Leisure in Canada. These unique products can be played on a DVD Movie Player using your remote controller as well as a Playstation 2 and XBox console. One version that works on all 3 machines.

Now you can relive the "Real Arcade experience in the comfort of your own home". These fully interactive games give you full control, just like the arcade releases, you don't just watch the video, you play the game!

Available in May 2003, these products will retail at £ 9,99.

Phoenix announces PSOne budget range - December 17th 2002

Phoenix Games announces new Super Budget range for PSOne. With a retail price of only £6.99 it will be the lowest priced software available for Sonys' console. A total of 24 titles will be released in 2003, with the first 6 titles hitting the market on April 11th. Have a look at our PSOne Budget section for more information.

Phoenix signs with Japans largest publisher - December 23rd 2002

D3 Publisher Inc in Japan is the biggest Sony budget publisher in the world. In October 1998 they released the Simple 1500 series for PSX. Based on the concept, "pure entertainment for everyone", they employed a low price strategy and within 4 months the series became a million seller. Now with over 100 PS ONE titles they have posted cumulative domestic shipments of over 8 million units.

As Japan is way ahead of Europe and the PS One market has now slowed down in that territitory D3 have carried forward their succesful concept and released a PS2 range called Simple 2000 that will consist of 60 titles by the end of 2003.

Finally after long negotiations Phoenix has beaten off competition from various publishers and has secured the exclusive rights for the Simple 2000 Series in all PAL territories. First titles to be released will be Street Golfer, GT Road Warriors, Fist Fighter, Bust-A-Wall and Xtreme Boarders.

Phoenix has appointed Joag in Italy and SGDiffusion in France to handle the exclusive distribution of its products in these territories. N-Tec of Hungary has also been signed up to distribute the PC budget range in Hungary.

The deal means that Just will exclusively distribute the Phoenix products to all the independant retailers in the UK market. "We feel that Just will provide us with the proper focus that is needed to be a succes in the UK independant market"

Phoenix signs sequels - February 20th 2003

After the success of PC games Cue Club and Stable Masters at full price, Phoenix has signed the sequels from Bulldog Interactive and ESP Software respectively. Trickshot the new version of Cue Club with 7 different Pool and Snooker games will now also work on Windows XP and 2000.

Stable Masters 2 the Horse Racing Management game will also work on Windows XP and 2000 and has been updated with all the latest racing data. This product is the first in Phoenix's new Premium PC range that will retail at £9.99.

Phoenix signs new distribution partners  - March 1st 2003

Phoenix is consolidating its operations with new distribution partners. THQ in Australia and Porto Editora in Portugal have been appointed to handle exclusive distribution of products in these territories.

"We are very pleased to have secured distribution with these two leading companies. We feel that they will provide us with the proper focus that is needed to be a success in these markets", said Simon Hamer, Commercial Director.

Phoenix signs new partner for German speaking territories - August 22nd 2003

Phoenix Games has signed an exclusive distribution deal with New Media Agency for all it's standard products for the German speaking territories Germany, Austria & Switzerland.

New Media Agency is an up and coming distributor who have already proved in the first two months of sales that Phoenix have found the right partner for these territories.

Phoenix selects Softwrap as digital distribution partner - October 14th 2003

Softwrap™ today announced that Phoenix Games, exclusive publisher of games produced by small developers, has selected Softwrap's technology to securely and digitally distribute some of its most successful games.

By 'Softwrapping' such favourites as Air offensive, Trick Shot and Stable Masters 2 and utilising Softwrap's numerous marketing channels, both on- and offline, Phoenix Games anticipates that it will reach new audiences and boost revenues.
